Tuesday evenings at Black Point Inn are highlighted with performances by the jazz trio, Catama. You can enjoy the smooth sounds of Catama from 5-7:00 pm on our deck, which overlooks the ocean and hosts a spectacular view of the sunset. Whether you are stopping in for appetizers, one of our specialty drinks or dinner with friends, Catama will create an ambiance certain to enhance your BPI experience. We look forward to seeing you!
Wouldn’t it be nice to look forward to something on Monday other than your return to the daily grind? How about a visit to Black Point Inn for a cocktail party with general manager Phil Kronenthal? It’s happening today and every Monday from 4:30-5:30pm, rain or shine. On sunny Mondays, you will find Phil outside by the BPI pool which is surrounded by lush greenery and comfortable seating. In inclement weather, your destination will be the Sunporch with its white wicker furniture and spectacular view of the ocean and Ferry Beach. Whether you are poolside or on the Sunporch, you will have an opportunity to sample a variety of wines along with a delicious assortment of cheeses, beautifully displayed on a platter created by our pastry chef, Laura Rudy. It is an event which is sure to brighten your day and we look forward to seeing you there!
New flag right out of the box today, a little bigger than the one it is replacing, but we think it fits right. Adam our ever ready bell hop was up to the task. And so a new season here at Black Point Inn our very own oceanside resort.
Spring has come to Prouts Neck! Right here at our own seaside resort the grass is greening, the forsythia is out, and the trees are budding! The temperatures are coming around each day a little more, although -because we are after all an oceanfront hotel- the breezes off the ocean are still a little cool.
We are getting ready to open on Mother’s Day Weekend, (Friday May 7) and we will be posting a Mother’s Day package soon!
Also we are renovating the front entrance steps at the inn. Look for progress on this project right here!
Opening night of Harvest on the Harbor 2009! Lots of fun as this festival kicks off on the Portland Waterfront. Chef trap and Mindy dish up their very own house cured fennel Arctic char for a full house! Our Canadian photographer is sent out into the crowds to capture the scene!
The festival opens tonight and runs through Oct. 24…. Cheers!
High winds and small waves crash against a lee shore that is treacherously lined with a sandy beach today as a group of Opti sailors battle for their lives!
Pure skill, brawn and sailing smarts were put to the test to keep their ships from running up against the sandy beach… and certain destruction!!!!
Interesting story here in the lobby this morning as Stu Taylor broadcast his morning radio show live!! Stu was connected with his radio studio and did his morning show right from the lobby. He had Jesse Henry our general manager on with him for the first half of the show!
The giggles could be heard on the sunporch at the Inn. Just down below at the beach summer had started! Our photographer hopped on a bicycle and coasted down the hill to the Sand Dollar beach.
These two girls had started summer, there was no turning back. Summer, swimming, beachin, lazy days digging in the sand… its all a go right here at Black Point Inn.
