Wouldn’t it be nice to look forward to something on Monday other than your return to the daily grind? How about a visit to Black Point Inn for a cocktail party with general manager Phil Kronenthal? It’s happening today and every Monday from 4:30-5:30pm, rain or shine. On sunny Mondays, you will find Phil outside by the BPI pool which is surrounded by lush greenery and comfortable seating. In inclement weather, your destination will be the Sunporch with its white wicker furniture and spectacular view of the ocean and Ferry Beach. Whether you are poolside or on the Sunporch, you will have an opportunity to sample a variety of wines along with a delicious assortment of cheeses, beautifully displayed on a platter created by our pastry chef, Laura Rudy. It is an event which is sure to brighten your day and we look forward to seeing you there!
All of our oysters at Black Point Inn are opened to order by the sure hands of our fabulous kitchen team. We mainly serve the famous Damariscota Oyster, sometimes we serve Glidden Points. We are especially proud to carry oysters from the Nonsuch Oyster company, located just across the way. We show these special, local oysters on Tuesday Nights during our weekly Live Jazz on the deck.
Our Sous Chef Karl was sharpening his fish knives yesterday in preparation for cutting a whole halibut. Our photographer was quick with a video camera to capture Karl expertly working on this fish.
Our photographers have submitted another update to the sunset series. Last night there was another interesting sunset here in front of Black Point Inn, that just had to be recorded… we think you might agree!
And this morning we heard that the Carry All was open for the season! The Prouts Neck one-stop-shop for wine, newspapers, candy, and many many extraordinary and intriguing and eclectic gifts…
Major action at the 3-bay sink in the kitchen today. One sink full of fresh fiddleheads being cleaned, another with fresh oysters being scrubbed a little to bring out the shine, and a third bay for rinsing out some mussels… destined for the steamer. Spring menus in Maine at their best….. no lobsters in the photos but they were not too far away!
Our photographer caught Larry, our all-in-one guy, fixing a spot on the lawn by the road that the snow plow had hit this past winter. This all just in time for the Memorial Day Weekend! The weekend that kicks off the season all across Maine.
Nice piece about Prouts Neck, Black Point Inn, the famous cliff walk and Scarborough Maine in the online version of Cookie magazine. Take a look!
Titled “Summer Steals” The article lists several great places to stay this summer that are on the ocean.
“Whether you’re looking for a beach vacation or a country weekend getaway, these destinations offer the perfect mix of culture, nature, and great food—and all at relatively reasonable prices…..”
If you would like, check out our packages…. we hope to see you soon….
Sunny and warm day here out on Prouts Neck at Black Point Inn. Our photographer thought it was a perfect day to capture a few images of the Sand Dollar beach just below the Inn. On his way out he noticed that the bicycles were out and ready for guests use.
At the beach the sand was warm, the water clear and the Inn could be seen just above the dunes. See you all here soon!
The first in an installment of sunset images at Black Point Inn. The inn is unique in that the sun sets over the water and the Pine Point beach beyond, and can be seen each night from the seats in the Chart Room and on the Porch.
Last night our photographers were out in force attempting to capture the sunset. This one might be hard to beat. We had a very intense thunderstorm blow through from the West just before sunset, and so as the rain lifted the sunset revealed was quite extraordinary. But you can let us know what you think.
A beautiful clear, mild day arrived this morning over the Inn. Penobscot Bay is sparkling in the morning light. The smell of fresh malted waffles wafts through the halls at the in this morning. In the pub there is the steady hum of breakfast activity. Thus marks the closing of a fantastic destination wedding. Last […]
Keep an eye out here to see developments from our first ever Mid-Coast Maine Oceanfront New Years Eve wedding right here at The Inn at Ocean’s Edge. Today our Groom Dom, and a team of his family and friends arrived at the Inn ready to decorate! Check back here for more as the weekend approaches! […]
Wellness is not a topic that comes up a lot for us around Super Bowl Sunday, even though I hear there is a sporting activity involved! Do we have more Pats fans or Giants fans in our crowd? A quick survey around the office nets these results. Almost all will watch. Almost all will watch […]
Do you have a pair of these? These are mine! Outside this morning on my Casco front porch. Confession: I am not a Maine native. I’ve lived here 24 years, and my three children were born here, but that doesn’t make me any less ‘from away’. So as an outsider, I’m still delighted and charmed […]
